BEST CIGAR LOUNGES IN PARIS

Cigars are synonymous with Paris, much like a sophisticated suit and tie. The city boasts countless locations where you can purchase or enjoy a cigar, catering to enthusiasts from all backgrounds. To help you find the perfect spot, we’ve narrowed down the list and compiled the top cigar lounges in Paris that are open to the public, offering exceptional experiences for aficionados.

Please note that many cigar lounges enforce a dress code, and some may require a minimum spend or an entrance fee. However, rest assured that there is something to suit everyone’s preferences. The best part is that France consistently receives a steady supply of high-quality cigars from Cuba and other leading cigar-producing countries, ensuring that you’ll be well taken care of during your visit.

And if you’re hungry and want something simple to eat but don’t want to go for some fast food,  we recommend some excellent regional French cuisine which are famous for French comfort food. Hearty stews, simple Mediterranean, steak and frites, etc.

There are also some excellent steak houses and gastro pubs worth trying in Paris. The gastro pubs are a mix of bar bites + craft beer but a few are a bit more refined.

So here are the best cigar lounges in Paris:

1) CASA PELLETIER

Located in the Montparnasse area, Casa Pelletier is a beautiful lounge that is perfect for enjoying a good cigar or two.  They have comfortable seats, beautiful decor, friendly service, and a solid roster of cigars and drinks. So make a reservation (recommended) or swing by to make yourself right at home and enjoy.

Besides their fumoir (cigar room) they also operate an excellent restaurant so we recommend having dinner and then moving over to the fumoir for a cigar afterwards.  The only downside is they are closed on weekends.

You can reserve a table (link below).

2) GENTLEMEN 1919

This is an ideal spot for someone looking to get away from the crowds and smoke a cigar in a quiet and relaxed setting.  This cigar lounge is tucked away at the back of a stylish barbershop, replete with comfy leather chairs and charming decor.  It is so cosy, you won’t want to leave.

Gentlemen 1919 barbers are among the best in Paris (also on our best barbers shortlist) and you could have a cigar and a glass or two while you wait for your trim. They’ve expanded the fumoir and bar area so it is an excellent place to unwind and we really do appreciate that they know how to make all of the classic cocktails we love. Closed on Sundays, open from noon until 2am.

3) CUBANA CAFE

Set in a charming country-Cuban style restaurant/club, Cubana Cafe is a good choice for those seeking a more informal, relaxed place to unwind and enjoy a good puro. They of course have a good supply of rum and Cuban cigars as well as Cuban cocktails like mojitos (one of the best in Paris). The best part is they are open every day, from 11am to 4am.

4) LE SPEAKEASY

The fumoir (cigar lounge) at Le Speakeasy is a secluded sanctuary within a boisterous restaurant,  which happens to turn into a ‘piano club’ at night. This isn’t the kind of piano club you’re thinking- this is the more jet-setty ‘party at your table and drink champagne while a live act performs or a DJ spins’ type piano club. Even those who scoff at this sort of thing will find it an amusing juxtaposition. And this may be the only cigar lounge in Paris where beautiful women stroll in for a break from partying. Closed Sundays and Mondays, open from 7.30pm to 4am.

5) CIGAR BAR at HOTEL LA MAISON

You will either love or hate the decor at this very somber cigar lounge. Dark brown, almost black leather seats. Black oak wood floors. Black walls. Only the small lamps pierce through the darkness.  It’s located in the elegant Hotel La Maison just off the Champs Elysees. The best part is they sell reasonably priced cigars starting at under 20 euros. Open everyday from 1pm to 11.30pm.

6) KLEBER LOUNGE at THE PENINSULA HOTEL

Kleber Lounge is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a more upscale experience. The lounge itself is clean, elegant and bright. It’s located within the iconic Peninsula Hotel and so not of cosiest cigar lounges.  Their plush leather seats and cocktail services makes up for the rather stark decor. They also have a minimum spend of 150 euros net per person. Open from 3pm until 2am.
