BEST BURGERS IN PARIS

Want to know where you can find the best burgers in Paris? We’ve got you covered. You may not have realised but Paris is one of the best cities in the world for enjoying a burger thanks to a steady supply of high-quality French beef and French culinary know-how.  French beef is excellent quality and mainly grass fed and so nutritious. You can find over 20 different types of beef in France, the most famous being Charolais and Aubrac, which of course are also popular for steaks (and Paris naturally has many excellent steakhouses to choose from).

To make things even more delightful is the fact France has been undergoing a burger craze over the past 5 years, so there are burgers on offer at almost every restaurant and a growing network of gourmet burger chains.  More choice is good, right?

In terms of price, considering these are all gourmet burgers and most come with sides the rates arent too bad. Of course you can find cheaper options at fast food chains like MacDo (McDonalds in French) but the quality doesnt come close. On average you’re looking at:

Standard Gourmet Burger: The price for a standard gourmet burger ranges from approximately €10 to €20.

Burger with Fries or Side + Drink Combo: The price typically hovers just under €20, but can vary depending on the specific order.

Kids’ Menu with Burger and Fries: The price is in the range of €10-€15.

While you can grab a burger in many bistros (restaurants) in Paris, we’ve shortlisted burger joints and restaurants where you are guaranteed to eat the best burgers in Paris:

1) BLEND

Blend is a gourmet burger chain which serves simple but perfectly crafted and presented burgers.  There are five around Paris so you won’t be far from one and we like the simple and slightly retro burger decor to remind you that they are serious about burgers.  Everything is homemade including the buns and French fries (chips), and each burger is a work of art- carefully concocted with all kind of carefully selected toppings and sauces.  Besides their signature burger, we recommend limited editions – most recently a AOP camembert cheese with bacon carmelised with maple syrup, lettuce cider gelee and quality American mustard… Yummmm.

2) ONE & ONE

One & One Burger in Paris is quickly becoming the go-to spot for burger aficionados, especially known for their irresistible melted cheese burgers. Each burger they serve is a culinary masterpiece, beautifully crafted and surprisingly affordable at around 12 euros. If you’re a fan of cheeseburgers, One & One’s signature burger, with its gooey, perfectly melted cheese, is a must-try. It’s not just about the cheese; the quality of the beef is top-notch, and their burgers come with a variety of unique and flavorful sauces that add an extra layer of deliciousness. Their standout burger, featuring a special blend of cheeses and a house-made sauce, is a real crowd-pleaser.

Apart from their famous cheeseburgers, One & One also offers a range of non-beef options, like their savory grilled chicken burger, which is equally tantalising. One & One Burger has multiple locations across Paris, each with its own distinctive and lively decor. The most popular spot is their location near the bustling Montmartre area. This particular outlet not only serves up their fantastic burgers but also doubles as a bar.

3) PNY

PNY has been making headlines as one the most popular spots in Paris thanks to their attention to detail. Each burger is a work of art, and and relatively cheap at around 13 euros.  If you love beef, try their Morning California burger which has a secret sauce that will have you coming back for more, and more and more.  They also make some non beef burgers like the Chateau d’Eau chicken burger which is one of the best chicken burgers you will ever taste! EVER!

They have 7 locations in Paris and each one has a unique, fun and decorated differently. Our favourite PNY is the one near Monmartre (called PNY Voyager), which also doubles as a bar and  offers an excellent craft beer selection.

4) LE RUISSEAU

Le Ruisseau was one of the first modern burger joints to launch in Paris and we can safely say that they make some of the best burgers in Paris without question- all the top ‘experts’ agree 🙂  With four locations in greater Paris, each has its own charm, but their joints in Montmartre and Les Halles are particularly awesome.

Their menu ranges from a classic cheeseburger to more adventurous options like the surprisingly delightful goat cheese burger and a fiery spicy BBQ burger, dripping with a tangy, homemade BBQ sauce. What stands out at Le Ruisseau is the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each burger, reasonably priced at around 15 euros. For younger guests, they offer a children’s menu featuring smaller burgers and fries for 13,50 euros, making it a family-friendly destination. Besides their mouth-watering burgers, Le Ruisseau also boasts a selection of choice craft beers and creative cocktails, perfect for complementing your meal. These beverages add a sophisticated touch to the casual dining experience.

5) LE CAMION QUI FUME

Le Camion Qui Fume began its journey as a food truck and now boasts three brick-and-mortar locations in Paris – Odeon, Oberkampf, and Pathé Ivry, alongside maintaining a food truck near the Mitterand Bibliotheque in East Paris. Despite maintaining a low profile, Le Camion Qui Fume has expanded its reputation through word of mouth, earning accolades from celebrity chefs, including the late Anthony Bourdain.

Their menu is straightforward, featuring classic options like the Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheeseburger, and Double Cheeseburger, and also includes modern favorites such as the Buffalo chicken burger with Fourme d’Ambert blue cheese and Frank’s Red hot sauce. A meal here, consisting of a burger accompanied by French fries or coleslaw and a drink, is priced at around 16 euros, varying with your choice. The high-quality beef used in their burgers makes them exceptionally tasty, and their selection of additional sauces, like aioli and chipotle, enhances the overall experience.

6) BIG FERNAND

Big Fernand, with its impressive network of over 20 locations across Greater Paris, stands as a testament to its immense popularity. Their burgers are not only of high quality but also notably large, true to the ‘Big’ in their name. The variety of delicious and quality toppings they offer is a significant draw, including options like the exquisite bleu d’Auvergne (a distinct blue cheese), melting raclette cheese, gourmet bacon, and tantalizingly fried onions.

In addition to their standout burgers, Big Fernand also excels in their side offerings, particularly with some of the best loaded French fries you’ll ever have the pleasure of tasting. These fries are a perfect accompaniment to their hearty burgers, making for a satisfying meal. However, it’s worth noting that despite their culinary prowess, many of Big Fernand’s locations fall short in providing ample comfortable seating. This aspect somewhat detracts from the overall dining experience, leading to a slight deduction in their overall rating. Despite this, the quality and flavor of their burgers and sides make Big Fernand a must-visit for burger lovers in Paris.

The key to Le Factory Burger’s appeal lies in their ability to consistently produce delicious, sizable burgers. While these burgers are slightly pricier than some others in the area, with prices ranging from 17 to 20 euros, the quality and taste justify the cost. It’s a must-visit for those in central Paris looking for a top-notch burger experience.

9) L’ARTISAN DU BURGER

L’Artisan du Burger was once THE place to go for the best burgers in Paris but they’ve lost points due to poor service and a few poorly run joints.  The reason they are still on the list is because of their burgers are all natural and we simply love their nature-first philosophy, reflected in everything from the food to the decor which features wood, stone and other natural materials.  Their burgers are reasonably priced around 13 euros and it’s a great place to go if you’re with friends or family who don’t love burgers or are vegetarian (excellent veggie burger) since their salads are large and they have plenty of non-beef options to chose from such as a salmon burger with herbs and a pepper sauce.

With 8 locations across Paris with two more on their way.  Their burgers are big and tasty with all kinds of gourmet toppings. We love their season, chef inspired burgers and the their healthy yet tasty sides and salads. Sometimes its just nice to have a salad to balance out the heaviness of a burger!
